Fortuitious Findings (ask)

[Mystique]

The plan was simple enough. Mystique would find it rather easy to get things going. She would simply combine whatshe knre from the Brotherhood and what Nymph was feeding her. Well some of wha Nymph was feeding her. See, the Brotherhood had already been planning such a scheme of their own. The cure labs were the best place to start. They needed to shut this thing down while it was still rather small. At least smaller than it would be in a few months. By then it would be global. It wouldn't be dificult or suspicious in the least for her to use a few of her conacts within the Brotherhood either. Not that she needed help, or should use it. It was best to keep this between her and Nymph, but she knew of a few that would prove usefull.

She listened to her talk. She had a few of the bugs worked out. It would be blind and stupid for her to have come there and be talking out her ass. It would be a bad idea to promise Raven something and not give it to her. A very bad idea. She doubted very much so that the government would get past the Brotherhood. There was no way that they could get them all. There was always room to wiggle.

"It is very doubtfull that they will take out my organization. They will try, but they will not succede."

Her voice was confident, perhaps to much. But she knew she was right. She shot her a look, then looked back to the street in front of her. If this was going to work out the two would have to work together, that much was obvious. But Mystique stil wasn't sure how much of this she believed. She would give it a test drive and if things got complicated she would do what she did best... disapear.

"What you should really be worring about is when they figure it out that it is pointless to attach us. Thats when they will wise up and go after you. And if nothing else, they start digging, eventually they will learn to see past their own incignificant existance. Thats when things will get ugly. They will panic," SHe paused momentarily. "I've seen it before."

There were things she might not have foreseen, but overall, girl seemed prepared. Which is what made Mystique wonder what kind of facilities this girl had been working with. Did that mean that Nymph had her own connections to the government. If so, she was alot more like Mystique than previously expected. Most mutants didn't know this, but Mystique was sure to have a hand in most things the governmet did. Hell, she used to be the Deputy Director of Defense of the D.A.R.P.A. for gods sake. So, it was pretty safe to say that she knew what the hell she was talking about.

"A pretty face has never bindsided me before," she paused. "But don't flatter yourself cupcake." Mystique lowered her glasses a bit to make eyecontact with Nymph. "I've seen better."

She put her glasses back up before shrugging a bit. Nymph was built, she would admit that much. But that didn't mean Mystique would be hesitant to take her down off her pedistal. True, Mystique hadn't attempted to kill her yet... yet.

"They could try and they can suceed. The cure is something that they've developed and if they can do that they can sure as hell take members down slowly and I know for a fact they've got hit lists."

Reija knew much more than she let on. Hell, the covernment knew more about the Brotherhood than Mystique knew! She was the expert to an extent, but Reija was the one that had the upper and she knew that. There was no way that Mystique could prove her wrong. Rei had the upperhand and it didn't matter in any other way. She had the information and everything that Mystique lacked, and the practicality among other things.

She was confident in her plan, she knew things were fine. She knew more than enough. Mystique didn't give Rei enough credit. The woman was much more than she seemed, and she seemed to be quite a lot! Mystique wasn't going to disappear, she needed the information and Reija knew it. There was no way that Mystique couldn't use Reija's information and there ewas no way that the government could go after Hexus. Even if Mystique ratted them out, there was no way to prove it and there was no way to find them. Only a few of them had rep sheets, and they weren't really around as much...

"I've seen it before too, but the great thing about me is the government doesn't know me, they don't know anyone in Hexus. We've been operating long enough and they don't know a thing, I'd worry more about the Brotherhood if I were you, seeing as you're all a bigger target, which is another place we can help with."

Rei grinned. She did have connections with the government. She had for quite some time, not to mention her hacking and computer skills exceeded Mystique. She had quite a bit on her shoulders and she had multiple talents! A small laugh came out and Rei slid her own glasses down a bit with a smirk covering her plump lips.

"I'm sure you've seen better, but this pretty face already blindsided you. You don't know even a minute amount of what I have to offer, so don't flatter yourself, muffin."

REija smirked wider, sliding her glasses up with her middle finger. She wasn't even beginning yet, and Reija was beautiful. She knew that. She was built, she had quite a bit to offer, but she wasn't interested in Mystique in that way. It was strictly business, and Reija could kill Mystique pretty quickly if she had to!

Of course they had hit lists and Mystique was bound to be on the top. The government would just love to get their hands on Mystique, they had ben trying for many, many years now. But it was almst never a big matter. She had enough aliases to cover her trail good enough.

"I understand that, we all have hit lists. But if things get bad, the Brotherhood has its outs. That of which are not your concern."

The Brotherhood was well prepared for matters such as that. The government or anyother organizatoin made never and would never be able to eliminate them entirly. There was always the few that would linger. And if not, the ideas would. The Brotherhood would never truly die.

"My worries on the Brotherhood are just fine the way they are."

She had her concerns, yes. But she was never one to fret.(*giggles*)

'The governmeent may not be aware of your presence just yet, but the day will come. You can't cove your trail forever."

No one could cover their trail forever, it was impossible. There were signs, clues, things that after time, no matter how long, would be recognized. Even others who would be willing to turn you in. Not that Mystique was one of those. It took alot to get her to turn in her own kind, that is unless it suited her purpose. And as long as Nymph did what she promised, she would maintain her purpose.

"Then perhaps you should tell me, or show me, a little more than mor eof what you have to offer before I get bored. Because so far all you have done is talk."

She did not mean it sexualy, hell no. Mystique had been in bed with some of the most powerful men,and women in the world. So whatever kind of effect that Nymph thought she had on Mystique, she was very wrong. What would make her think that Mystique would possible want her? Nymph wasn't wxactly her type anyway.

Her voice was a little bit more venamous this time. She was serious, she would leave, and if this Nymph thought otherwise, she was saddly mistaken. Mystique was no fool and she wasn't going to stand idoly by while time was waisting away. Now, perhaps in the long run this wouldn't be a waist, but as of now, it certainly appeared that way. She had better come up with something of inerest to say, and quick or this conversation was over. Wether Nymph liked it or not.

"I never said it was my concern, but you seem to think that the Brotherhood is immune. It isn't. I know for a fact they know some of your aliases, but then again you've got so many, Grace."

Bingo! Rei knew oh so much more than she thought. Hell, Reija had the upperhand here. She knew so much about Mystique, and the other woman knew so little about here. She wa scomfortable with that, though. She wouldn't have it any other way. Their ideas could live on, yes, but no one else was as capable as the members they had. If Magneto and Mystique were taken out, it was obvious, the action would die with them. There was no chance in hell that anyone else could handle it! Those two were the ones to get all of the action and everything out. It would end with them. Yes, they had Allerdyce, but he was a follower. He ahd to have someone to lead him, it seemed. Ask for Hexus....they could be caught, but by the time they were it would be far too late.

"Hah, yeah, by the time the government finds us there shouldn't be anything left. Covering our trail is easier than you think, and we haven't been caught yet, we've been running quite long now."

More than ten years.... There was quite a bit of time backing Hexus. None knew about it and that was the best thing. They were still secretive, and that was the way they would remain. By the time that their trail began to show, they would all be ready to put their big plan into action! Reija smirked and chuckled a bit. She knew for a fact that she had a dirty mind, but Rei hadn't been refering to that. She smirked widely and crossed her arms.

"Ah, but we were having such lovely banter...,"

Reija pouted, fakely, a moment and shook her head a bit.

"Putting all of the innuendoes aside, we both have things to offer. You know where you can find me, you know little of what I can offer. If you're still interested, another meeting is in order, and I can get you quite a bit of useful information. I believe cure labs, scientists, and the newest appointed officials would be useful.... as well as taking out some of the stronger hits out."

Reija was offering. She knew she hadn't proved anything. She didn't really need to. If Mystique didn't believe her she was the fool...

[Mystique]

"And I never said the Brotherhood was immune, we are anything but. However,"

She let her voice trail for a second. The Brotherhood was no where near invincible and she knew that. Anyone who thought they were invincible was a fool. It was very possible that the Brotherhood and its glory days would end with Erik and her. But who ever said that she had any intention of dying...

Her voice picked up again. This time on a far less pressing topic. "Atleast a couple dozen, but who's counting, right Nymph?"

Code names, aliaes, hell they were all the same and it was wise to have more than a few. Nymph was hardly one to pick. Not that it would stop her, it wouldn't and didn't stop Mystique either.

"The Brotherhood ran for many a years before anyone knew anything of us, or before they thought we were a real threat. Just look at us now."

A part of her felt like a teacher, but someone had to. If the Brotherhood faded away like into memmory, or nightmare as it may have been for the humans, some group would step up. Another would take over, hopefully a smart group that knew how to handle them selves. Maybe even one with similar views, the Brotherhood really was the mutants last fighting chance. Atleast at this point in time. There where the soul reason that there were as many mutants left as there were. Without them or another one similar, hope would be lost.

"There will be other times for banter, if we meet again."

She smirked, she had a hunch they would. It was definatly worth her time to look into. One more source couldn never hurt.

"If it's in your grasp, get me the layouts of as many labs as you can. On disk of course. We can go from there as to how we... arange it."

It was a simple task, one she could have done easily herself. But this was a work in progress. If what they planed worked, then there tasks would progress, chances were, very rapidly.

She smirked, shaking her head a bit. Her voice very playful.

"That is, if you can handle it."

Reija smirked ominously.

"Good thing that you know that. Don't let our ideas die with you and Magneto, though. That would be tragic."

Rei said. Yeah, she believed in the same thing. Many mutants with Hexus did and that was why they were working with such feverence. They were quickly, they were skilled, and they were busting ass and getting all they could done! They didn't rest often, and they were careful and calcuating. That was why they were really like the Brotherhood, except still in the shadows. Codenames, aliases, Reija had enough of them. Mystique seemed to have a dislike for the name Nymph and she rolled her eyes a bit.

"We all have our aliases, I'd have to say, even though I'm younger than you I've got almost as many, and since you seem to spurn upon Nymph, you can choose between that and Irene."

That was much closer to Rei's real name. IT was her middle name.Thjough it was finish. Hell, Rei had pronounced it for Mystique too. It wasn't done with an i sound at the beginning. Ear-eh-ney. IT was simple enough. She'd rather stick with Nymph, but Mystique was just egging it... Yawning a bit, Reija smirked.

"Yes, just look at the brotherhood now. You're a bit more limited, but still around, which is something to be proud of."

Reija would give them that. Though, she didn't need a teacher. She really didn't. She hadn't needed one in quite some time. If...

"It's not a question of if, it's a question of when."

Reija said assuredly. It was too. She didn't have the skepmatics on her, but she would get them easily. Mystique would see her a gain. She knew the woman remembered the repair shop that she had shown her. The woman worked there, she had plenty of disks and more than enough time and brain cells to accomplish this.... Smirk.

"I can handle much more than that. I can get the skematics to the buildings and the profiles for all of the employees on two CDRs. Ask for the next meeting... I arranged the first. You should take care of the second."

Rei smirked as she stopped at the corner before crossing the street. Her GTO was parked there. It shone in the sunlight and she climbed in sending Mystique a look. Oh, how sly she was...

[Mystique]

"Oh, yes. Im sure you would be absolutly heartbroken if your competition was out of the way."

Mystique wasn't sure she concidered her competition in the slightest yet. She had yet to prove herself worhty of such a tittle. So far the only thing she had shown Mystique was iniciative, and some skill. After all she had followed her to the cafe. Not exactly an easy task, following a woman who has based her life on not been seen.

"I don't know." She said her voice teasing. "I think I much preferr cupcake."

Mystique was a bit interested as to why the girl had had such a change of heart. She hadn't intenchinally been picking the name. In truth it was quiet amusing. It was just her way to use ones name often in her speach. Saying someone's name over and over again in a conversation did two things. It kept their attention, not that she normaly had a problem in that area. Usually her company was to scared not to take every word she said in like their last breath. And secondly, it was a superiority thing. They often felt like they were being interrogated. Which was good, because usually they were. It also had a knack for making things seem more personal when in reality, she was slowly discintetigrating their confidence. Apparently, this little tactic still worked, Nymph was questioning herself, or revealing something.

Of course she was proud, she had spent the length of a normal persons life time building a dream. She had done everything in her power to make the Brotherhood what it was, she had no intention of lousing it now. Therefore, there where lots of things she could have said, but nothing that needed to be gone into.

This girl was so sure that Mystique would be meeting her again, she was so sure that everything would go in her favor. She would soon learn that when dealing with Mystique, that was not always so. Nevertheless, now wasn't the time to be making a point. Nymph appeared to think otherwise. She was dead set on proving herself. The girl had offered more than Mystique had asked for. Her decision, one Mystique would take advantage of.

"Fine, have it your way. But while your at get me brief layout and survainence of the surrouding area. Underground tunnels, subways, sewer, etc. You never know who's watching, or who has the ability to watch you."

It was only inteligant to know if there was survailence in neighboring stores or buildings. No point in taking unneccessary risks. Which was why she didn't imediatly turn away when Nymph did. She never turned her back on a friend or a foe, although, it was for different reasons. She was sure that this one would be neither, she would simply stay under the catagory of what Mystique called, A Connection. She watched with a huge grin as the girl had steped into what Mystique assumed was her vehicle. How very clever, how very mystique.

She watched, almost admiring the car as it sped away. She never missed a beat, and her eyes didn't fail to notice the license plate number either. This girl wasn't as smooth as she thought she was. When the car was out of vision, she snorted an almost laugh, before turning and continuing on her way. There was a way to get back to the mansion from this direction, it was just a little out of the way. But it was no matter, she had a few places she wanted to drop by on the way home first, anyway. The coffee shop that she had been in earlier that morning was not one of them. Infact it was in the opposite direction. That man, her mark, didn't know how lucky he had just gotten... Atleast for the time being.
