Everyone needs to get away at some point in time. Everything can just greate the nerves and build and build until one explodes. It's better to get that out of the system, no? Well, that's exactly what you have to do. Rather than burst and whatnot, you have to relax and get it out of your system! Kitty knew as much. She was on high in the stress department as well as having a few other problems. She couldn't help but feel so oddly about it all. There was a war brewing and one of the battles was approaching far too quickly. It was all overwhelming. Kitty needed an escape, even if only for a little while. Everyone needed that from time to time, and running and getting out to train of a morning just didn't cut it, yes, it helped just a bit, but it wasn't the thing that could help her relax completely. She couldn't even decide what she had wanted to do, but she decided the day was going to be spent away from the institute. AFI played through her alarm as she woke up completely....it was time to start her lovely day....
The morning had been when she had made the decision. She had woken up feeling rather drained and lazy before she made her decision. She had to get out of the institute today. She couldn't stand the pressure, the tension in the air. IT would just run her down into the ground or something equally horrid. She knew she couldn't stand that. She had to get out for the day, and she knew it was going to happen. Kitty had gotten up and taken a shower before dressing in the last things that were left in her closet, she needed to do some laundry. The only things she had left were skirts, so she picked out the most comfortable black one that went a bit past her knees, and was a rather thin and smooth, cotton material. Along with that Kitty grabbed a yellow camisole that her friend had bought her and told her she had to wear often, but Kitty had hidden it... Anyway, the material was smooth and silky, along with a bit of lace on the chest and upon the bottom. That was good enough, and Kitty also grabbed a black sweater, dressing herself well enough before she wiggled her toes lightly on her carpet, eyeing Tabitha's messy bed as she thought about which shoes would be comfortable. She wasn't big on flip flops, but today she made an acception, slipping on her only pair of black flip flops before grabbing her keys and wallet, along with her ipod and a paperback novel. Though, she had slipped her keys, wallet, and ipod into her sweater pockets, holding the novel as she made her way down the stairs, waving at the few who acknowledged her before she got out into the garage and slipped into her car. Nope, she wasn't walking everywhere today. Kitty emptied her things onto the passenger seat befoer she opened the garage door with the push of a button and pulled away from the mansion, heading out.
She didn't do anything special, really. Kitty stopped and ate before getting some gas, gum, and a Ricker's lemonade slushie. She was feeling a bit more relaxed, but she hadn't even gotten the day to wane any. By the time she found her way to the trail near the mall, it was afternoon and it was mid afternoon at that. She knew the light might dwindle, but Kitty found that she wouldn't mind staying there for a bit. She felt at peace there, so Kitty parked her car carefully before slipping her keys and wallet into her sweater pockets and stuffed her ipod's earphones into her ears and pushed play, hearing the music begin, as she slipped over the grounds and found a bench, settled under a rather nice tree.
I... I came here by day, but I left here in darkness
And found you, found you on the way
And now, it is silver and silent, it is silver and cold
You, in somber resplendence, I hold
Kitty settled herself onto the bench and lifted her legs, averting them to the side and sliding them a bit under her bum and getting comfortable as she picked up at the spot that she had left at. The book was The Vampire Lestat and Kitty had been reading it for a good bit of time, but she had to keep pushing it to the side for other things. Now she could get a bit done, uninterrupted, right?
Your sins into me
Oh, my beautiful one
Your sins into me
As a rapturous voice escapes, I will tremble a prayer
And I'll beg for forgiveness
(Your sins into me) Your sins into me
Oh, my beautiful one
Light, like the flutter of wings, feel your hollow voice rushing into me
As you're longing to sing
So I... I will paint you in silver, I will wrap you in cold
I will lift up your voice as I sink
Your sins into me
Oh, my beautiful one, now
Your sins into me
As a rapturous voice escapes, I will tremble a prayer
And I'll beg for forgiveness
(Your sins into me) Your sins into me
Cold in life's throws, I'll fall asleep for you
Cold in life's throws, I only ask you turn away
Cold in life's throws, I'll fall asleep for you
Cold in life's throws, I only ask you turn
As they seep... into me, oh, my beautiful one, now
Your sins into me
Oh, my beautiful one
Your sins into me
As a rapturous voice escapes, I will tremble a prayer
And I'll beg for forgiveness
(Your sins into me)
Your sins into me... oh
Your sins into me
Oh, my beautiful one, now
Your sins into me
As a rapturous voice escapes, I will tremble a prayer
And I'll beg for forgiveness
(Your sins into me) Your sins into...
(Your sins into me) Your sins into me
Oh, my beautiful one
Time was going slowly, and the sun remained in the sky. It was a bit cool, but comfortable. The trees were healthy, and beautiful, the lawn was slightly wild, but seeming manicured. There wasn't another great place like this to relax. It seemed as if Kitty might actually feel better and get some time away from reality.... Things don't always go as planned, though. There was a stirring in the bushes, and Kitty didn't hear it. Her ipod was playing, not too loudly, but she didn't hear things around her. Her mind was engrossed in the book. She didn't notice the figure heading towards her. The movement was quickly and secretive before the figure reached Kitty, and was able to grab her, holding her in place, or so he thought, and causing her to drop the book, though she had only dropped it because she was surprised.
The figure was easily picked out as male, and a rather scummy sort at that. Stubble laced his face, and his nose was rather rat-like along with ebony, scruffy hair. He looked like a rat or weasel of some sort, and Kitty blinked, she could hear what he was saying, but it seemed as if he was moving his lips. After a moment his grimey hands ripped the earphones out of her ears. Kitty wasn't panicing as of yet. The smile that creeped onto the man's face was what caused Kitty to give a grimace. His teeth were rotting out of his mouth and they were covering in all sorts of things. The man was just overall dingy and disgusting. He squeezed Kitty's wrists harshly eliciting a squeek before Kitty began to move. She was going to fight back, DUH! It didn't seem as if the moron had been counting on that seeing as he looked surprised enough as he tried to move forward, and hadn't exactly easily gotten this done, but he had successfully pinned Kitty to the bench. She wasn't down and out yet, though. She gritted her teeth as she struggled for a moment, distracting him as she slid her feet off of the bench and knocked his own legs out from under him, though he dragged her down onto the ground, with a relentless grip, and pulled her atop him, which caused Kitty to begain jerking away from him. He didn't seem to want to give up though, this was all going so quickly.
"Calm down, precious, it won't hurt....much."
That struck Kitty and she clenched her jaw tightly as she phased through his hands and any attempts he could try anymore, stepping back, seeing her things littered on the bench and below it. Theman looked surprised and made a disgusted face, his eyes burning into her soul easily. HE was scary, yes, but that didn't mean that Kitty was that afraid. She had faced mutants with powers and this man wasn't even armed with anything other than a knife....
"You're one of them mutant freaks."
"Perceptive, did you figure that out all on your own?"
"You're not really in a place to be a bitch."
Kitty rolled her eyes and crossed her arms, still in phase form. He couldn't touch her, but he hadn't seemed to realize that yet.
"I think I'm in a place to act however I see fit, get the hell out of here."
Kitty wasn't scary even when she tried. The man only began to laugh, and Kitty's frustrations boiled causing her to go out of her phase for the moment, which was exactly the moment he moved forward. Shit... Phasing under pressure was difficult, especially if her life was on the line. Kitty could smell the rancid odors coming from the man and she felt the bile rise in her throat. Disgusting.... What would happen if she couldn't phase in time? This didn't bode well, and Kitty's concentration was dwelling, but what wasn't was her anger. Kitty decided to take a risk, and she stomped on his foot, swinging her elbow backwards hitting him in the abdoment before he wrapped his hands around her neck as best he could, as Kitty felt the knift digg into part of her shoulder. Kitty grabbed his arm and was able to get the proper leverage before she let go right as he began to topple into the ground. Kitty's hand shot up to her shoulder and she saw the blood, it wasn't too bad, though, it was already beginnint to try and clot. It wasn't deep enough to be horrible or anything. It was funny, vampires, like in the book, couldn't hurt you, but psychotic men could.
Kitty watched as the man lay there groaning and moaning in agony, she must have gotten him to land hard enough. She felt rather lucky. Keeping an eye on the psycho, Kitty stooped to pick up her things, easily, slipping her keys, wallet, and ipod into her pocket, picking up her book. She eyed him, he was trying to get up, she must have hit him harder than she thought, and he was eyeing the knife. Kitty scoffed for a moment and walked over, kicking the knife further away from him, though the steel on her foot hadn't felt nice. Stupid flip flops! Kitty knew better than to stick around. Though, she wanted to make sure this guy learned something.
"Next time you want to attack someone, make sure they can't kick your ass."
"Oh, shove it, you know you just got lucky."
Kitty gritted her teeth and rolled her eyes before she aimed a kick at him, but right as he flinched she pulled away and smirked.
"Lucky, huh, I call that skill, pervert."
Kitty said before walking away. She was a bit shaken and everything, but she wasn't completely afraid. She wasn't scared of that man, he couldn't touch her and she was pretty sure that she had given him something to think about, but then again, most people were morons, just like that man, who actually got up and began to follow Kitty, though at a distance, he was stupid, wasn't he? Kitty didn't realize it, though. She was putting the key into her door and unlocking it.... Some people just don't give up do they?
