People worry, don’t ask why, they just did. It was stupid really. All worrying did was make things harder, but they just couldn’t help it. People worried because they had emotion, emotion was the downfall of us all. It screwed everything up, made things complicated. Some people tried to void themselves of all emotion, and it was a hard thing to do. It was rare to find someone who could, and who could stick to it. Really the whole idea of voiding all emotions was stupid. You just needed to know which ones to scratch out, not all of them. There was sadness, anger, at least too much anger, guilt, and biggest of all, love.
Most people weren’t bright enough to think of this, but someone was. This was the chick you never saw coming, the one you’ve been warned about. She did as she pleased and never gave anything a second thought. She wasn’t the type to think things through, she just relied on instinct. She never got sad over a loss, she never got to anger, she never felt guilty for the things she did and people she hurt, and she never fell in love. She just didn’t worry. She just cut out all the unwanted emotions and that was that.
So who was this worry free woman? Well none other then Camine Groomes, though if you call her Camine she’d kick your @ss. She goes by CG, or Element, get it straight! CG was known for many things. She was known for being powerful, beautiful, slightly crazed, and just being herself. She was a unique, independent kind of person, one who just happened to have a really bad drug and alcohol problem. She was known to party, to get in trouble, she was just known to be bad. However, to the world Camine Groomes didn’t exist. She was killed in a horrible fire that took out the whole Groomes family. Truth of the matter was, it was she who started the fire, and she meant to. However, that was a story for a different day.
It was very late at night, Camine had just gotten in. She headed to her room and changed from her clothes into a pair of cloth shorts and a tank top, anything to get out of real clothes. If she couldn’t she’d walk around in her under-things, but she didn’t. Well, from time to time you’d catch her walking around the house in them, and almost always in her room, but other then that she tried to stay clothed. She came back down and headed to the kitchen. She fixed herself something to eat and went into the living room turning on the TV. This was pretty much her nightly ritual, she could do it with her eyes closed, only tonight she wasn’t drunk or high. She had been working before she got back, so now illegal substances or alcohol for her. Though CG was a wild child she took the whole Hexus stuff very seriously.
Now, back to what I said about CG being beautiful, she really was, I mean really! She had long blond hair, big blue eyes, slightly tanned, prefect skin, a killer body, she was just hot. No man could resist the charm of Camine Groomes, heck, some women couldn’t resist. She was just naturally seductive, she didn’t even need to try, it just happened. She was also quite the site with all her body art. She had seven tatoos: A star on the top of each foot and on each wrist, an angel very low on her waist going down below the belt, two snakes wrapping around a sun on her lower back, again going below the belt, and angel wings on her shoulder blades. She also had twenty-two items of body jewelry: fifteen all together in her ears, her belly button on the top and bottom, one right above each hip bone, and three you aren’t going to be able to find unless you get flashed or lucky.

Days rose and days waned to nothing more than a time to sleep, but that didn't mean that everyone always slept when they were supposed to. Reija had a problem with getting up extremely early and going to bed extremely late! Her body was set to some sort of internal clock, though she didn't even really think about it most of the time. She didn't worry about things, the past was the past, though it always loved to haunt people! Worrying was a part of life and Rei did worry. She only worried about several things, though. She worried about Hexus and getting things done the best that she could, but she also worried about her sister, though then again. She didn't know where the girl was and she couldn't find her this way. She thought the girl was dead, but she'd never know.
Tonight was different from other nights. Reija had done an extra beating on her punching bag, but then she had tried to go up and go to bed. She was in the normal pajamas, though she wasn't as bad as Camine, Reija covered up just a bit more. They were alike in certain ways, though Reija didn't get involved with drinking or drugs much anymore. She hadn't in a long while now... Anyway, the crimson hue of her tank top had ridden up from her rolling on her bed trying to sleep. It wasn't really working. She had been trying for quite a while now. Tonight, unlike other nights, REija had pulled on black, tight pants instead of shorts. They rode low on her hips, and her tattoo just barely peeked out above the hem of the pants. The head and tail of her dragon could be seen. It wound around from her hips, on the pelvic bones on each side, covering parts of her lower back as well. It was a water dragon, her specialty. She, unlike others, had full control over her power unless she was dying or sleeping. Then again, she could always be quick. It didn't take her long, she was a fighter....
She couldn't sleep, and she finally decided to get up. Rei's body was tired, but her mind wouldn't stop. She had heard someone going around, but then again Camine hadn't checked in much in a while. She found herseld treading out of her room barefooted and making her way downstairs. She grabbed a bottle of water and then settled herself on the couch next to her friend, I suppose you could call her.
"Busy night?"
Rei knew that Camine didn't always come in right in the mind, the woman was into drinking and drugs, it was no secret. Reija knew more than others, but then again she was probably the best person around. If anyone realized this they would probably tell her to take control of HExus, but then again Jason was the one in control. Though, Rei had always been older and she was wiser than many of the others. She was able to realize things, but that didn't really matter too much... She uncapped her bottle and took a gulp of the water as she leaned against the arm rest of the sofa and watched the girl.

Rei wasnt exactly best friend material for Cam, but they still got along. They were too alike in some ways, and too different in others to be but so close. However, they lived with it. Cam knew that if she needed help Rei would be there for her, just like Cam would be there for Rei. She knew that if she got into a bind Rei would save her, just as she would save Rei. That was the type of friendship they had, they were close, but far at the same time. They would most likely stay this type of friend for the simple fact that Cam had trust issues. In her whole life she had only ever trusted her family, who ended up hurting her, and two others, Jason being once of them. She didnt let people in, but when she did you'd know, because she'd let you call her Cam or Cami and not CG like everyone else does.
Back to Infreno now... It was no secret that CG and Jason were sleeping together, everyone know, nobody cared. It wasnt a big deal. You see, she trusted him more then anyone, ever. He took her in in her time of need and gave her a place in Hexus, and for that she would always be loyal to him. Though she was loyal the turst didnt come until later, then came the sleeping together. Now they were almost like best friends, ones who got busy a lot. The fact that Jason was younger then most of them, or that his power was great, but could still be beat out by another never crossed her mind. It wasnt about his power or his age, it was about how he led them, how he took care of them, how he gave them all a family and a place in the world, and that was something Camine really needed.
She glanced over at Rei with a soft smile and nodded.
"Arent they always?"
She grinned softly and looked back at the tv. CG knew better then most how powerfulRei really was, and that was the reason she respected her so much. Camine herself was in total control of her powers, heck, she could easily take out everyonn here, but the fact of the matter was that she could never be a leader with all her addictions and bad habits. Most thought that if anything happened to Inferno that he would hand off Hexus to Camine just because she was powerful and they were sleeping together, but if that happened Cam would turn it down and make him give it to Rei, not only for the fact she had a good head on her shoulders and great control of ver a great power, but because Cam knew she could be loyal to Rei, and not to anyone else.

Loyalty was always something to consider when you were in some sort of cult or gang, but with Hexus it was important. They all had to trust one another, or at least be loyal and know their place. Though, Reija pushed it. She pushed everyone to their limit, she toyed with people. She always had, there were few people that she didn't toy with and hurt. She couldn't help that! Reija had been screwed up in much of the same way that Camine had. She had been betrayed by family. It sucked. She had killed her parents, that was one of the major reasons that she wanted her sister, if she couldn't find the girl she'd never be able to trust anyone. She didn't really trust, but she realized that she had to keep her own trust and loyalty with Hexus. They were all lucky that she had taken the leap otherwise she might have already killed some of them. Camine had her life out of whack, Rei could surely point out all of their flaws, but she tried to hide her own a bit better.... That didn't always work, though...
"Yeah, well, usually you're much busier."
Rei said. She couldn't yawn, though she knew her body was tired. she couldn't sleep, though. Just like the other morning. After Jason had taken the initiative to be an asshole, Rei would have rather stayed up and fought with the dumbass than go back to sleep. That was the way that REi was, usually. She and Camine were different, but they still held similarities, their friendship was complicated and it didn't even matter. They both knew where they stood and Rei didn't push Camine, nor did Camine push Rei. Everything was equal....everything was completely as it should be.

She shrugged a little and let out a soft yawn, resting her now tiring eyes on the tv screen instead of Rei.
"Yeah I guess."
Cam was Jason's right hand man, or woman in this case. Everyone knew as much, she was normally the first person he turned to, it had been like that from the start. She was higher now then people who had been around years before her, and she loved it. She loved how people thought she was where she was because she slept with him, but that just wasnt it. She really was quite powerful under all the habits, and few knew that.
Rei knew though, she knew most stuff abotu Cam. She knew that she had snuffed out her own family, just like Rei had, and that her powers went beyond what most knew. You see, Camine controled the elements, all the elements not just the four basic ones. She controled earth, air, fire, and water, along with light, and electricity. People knew what she could control, but didnt know what she could do with them unless they worked with her. Normally when a mision required two people she was with Rei unless Jason decided to go with her himself.
She looked back over at Rei with a soft smile, reaching over and looping her arm in Rei's.
"Cant sleep dollface?"
Cam had this habit of calling people pet names, and she almost always called Rei dollface.

Rei had only nodded in a bit of agreement when Camine answered her. Though, it didn't really need to be answered. They both knew each other and themselves quite well. Nothing really needed to be said. IT was fine unspoken, but sometimes small talk could help a bit. That wasn't always bad...
Reija was some of the great power in Hexus. She could do quite a bit and Camine knew most of it, unles most, though. Rei knew pretty much everything that Camine could do, both because they worked together at times and because they had a creatain kinship, in a way. They were alinke. They had both killed their family, though Reija, wished and hoped, had a sister. Kaija should be alive, but Reija doubted she was, she hoped, but she knew it wasn't loikely.... Feeling Cam's arm loop through her own. She gave a bit of a smile, though she didn't do that often, and tilted her head a bit.
"Nah, can't sleep much at all, babe. Been having trouble since the other morning when I threatened your fuck buddy."
Reija threy the last part in jokingly and to see if Cam had heard about Rei's horrible wake-up and how she had reacted.... They got along pretty well and everything. Rei didn't really care if she would be upset, but she was looking for her friend to find it funny, considering Jason knew her room was next to his own....

She smiled back at Rei's little smile. Cam herself smiled quite a bit, she was a very happy person, mostly because she was often under the influence of... well anything she could get her hands on. She knew that Rei never really smiled, but Cam could always get some kind of grin out of her. That was just the type of personality Cam had. She was very lively, free spirited, and just fun to be around. She always brought the party with her, and was always the one you turned to to brighten up your day.
She let out a little laugh and nodded.
"Oh yeah, I heard about that one... Shame I missed it, but I was already passed out."
She nodded and shrugged. Unlike most people who abused alcohol and drugs Camine was fine with admiting to it. She knew she had a problem, and she didnt really care. She liked doing what she did, it was fun and she was all about a good time. She knew that the way she lived her life would get her killed one day, but she didnt fear the day, she welcomed it. She didnt want to live to be an old lady, she wanted to be happy when she kicked the bucket, and she was.

It was true, very little could cause Reija to smile, and Camine was just one of those things. She didn't always smile fully, but the girl could get her to at least grin. Very few could manage that, and though Reija would never admit it, Oliver was one of those people too, though she didn't give that one away. The thing that could ignite her real smile to it's full extent would always be Kaija, though. Her listtle sister.... That's what Cam reminded her of at times, though she wasn't really like Kaija at all. Reija never would have let Kaija do the things that Cam did, and that was just the way Rei was..... She looked to Cam as a very close friend, though they didn't act like it at all. They never would, they seemed opposites and neither really minded. They were both themselves.
"It is a shame. It was rather amusing if you cut out the fact that I really was considering killing him. You two must have had a very fun-filled night..."
That was Rei's way of asking Cam what they had done. Though, she wasn't being clear with it. It didn't really matter, but it meant that she was open to discussing it a bit. Reija wasn't completely bland, she got to party from time to time, but she didn't do it often. Reija had been wild at one point, though she hadn't ever reached Camine's point. She had never got that far, technically, Rei very seldom drank.... She had other things to do....and in an essence she really did keep things together for those who were younger than her. IN a way she had a lot of control around Hexus, she already helped Jason as much as she could... Everything was just odd that way....

She laughed a little and shrugged.
"Arent all the nights we spent together fun filled?"
She smriked and shook her head. Jason... that was a subject Cam didnt like to talk about. Everyone knew about them, but neither of them really talked about it. She didnt liked to think on the subject too deeply, it always made her feel bad. You see, their relationship was only physical, but both still cared about each other. Cam cared for him like she cared for Rei, like a close friend, but she knew very well that Jason had deeper feelings for her. Whenever she thought about the fact that he really did like her and want to be with her it always made her feel guilty because she didnt want that.
"We just went out drinking, bit of dancing, the normal. I love taking Jason out... he's quite funny when he starts drinking. The man cant handle his alcohol."
She laughed a little and nodded. Cam could drink anyone under the table, she was just real good. She liked taking the people around the mansion out because they were easy to out drink. However, Cam knew full well that if Rei ever decided to let go and really have a good time she'd give Cam a run for her money.

Rei said with a smirk. She had heard enough from both sides of their odd relationship. It didn't matter too much. Reija knew that Jason couldn't handle alcohol at all, though Cam could. When Rei had drank, she could have really given Cam a run for her money. She had been wild and everything at one point in time, but it wasn't really that way anymore. She didn't drink often anymore, except for the occasional glass of wine or something with dinner. She didn't take it further than that.
"That's true enough. He flopped over on the floor."
Rei said with a rather small laugh. IT didn't really matter, she knew that Jason was okay and everything. He still couldn't handle alcohol.... Hell, Reija wished she knew whether or not Oliver could, now that would be amusing. Camine didn't know that much about Rei's little love of pestering him. Though, if she did she might realize that Reija had a bit of an odd way of treating people... Then again, it could have been that old saying that opposites attract.

She laughed a little and shook her head. She could picture Rei yelling at him, then having him fallout on the floor like a whimp. She often called him a pansy when he got to drinking. He was such a lithg tweight, but hey, she'd never complane over a cheap date!
"Did he now? I guess Ill just have to pick on him for that one."
She smirked and shrugged a little. Cam knew more the Rei thought about her and Oliver, maybe even knew more the Rei did. Cam knew that Rei had a little crush on Ollie dear, it was so obvious to everyone who wasnt them. Cam could see it everytime she looked at them, she was tempted to just tell them to quit the act and go screw each other, but she kept her dirty little comments to herself.
"I cant either. Some people are just naturals, I know I was."
She nodded and grinned.

Reija grinned and gave off a rather nice snort of laughter. She knew that Cam would indeed pick on the guy too. It would be funny too. She found it completely amusing. She'd love to see that discussion. She found many things amusing, but it didn't really make a difference. Reija toyed with people all the time just for the fun. She took special interests in harder cases, though. Then again it seemed that she had been obvious, since her friend knew about it, though rei didn't know that.
"Yes, that's the word for it. Naturals."
Rei gave a small shrug. She was curious about things, but not really anything with cam's life. She knew the girl well enough to realize everything.
"You heard about the cure shit?"
She wasn't really interested in it, but she was making conversation. She was lucky that she didn't begin to talk about her Oliver encounters at the moment.... Then again, Rei was curious about the girl from the cafe moreso.

"No, not in front of everyone, that would be mean."
Her voice sounded a bit thoughtful as she thought of Jason. She really tired not to be mean to him, unless she was just joking around. Also she wouldnt pick on him in front of too many people, it would make it seem like she was disrespecting him, and she would never do that. Cam was completely loyal to him and his cause, she'd never do anything to signify otherwise.
She looked over at Rei with a soft smirk at the mention of the cure.
"Heard about it? Most of the people in this house are on the list of the 'dangerous mutants in need of the crue'. The whole thing is stupid, I mean we dont need a cure!"
She nodded and rolled her eyes a little. Cam didnt really mind talking about the subject and voicing her opinions, but only when the time was right. She had been through too much in her past involving her powers to think that it could all be snuffed out so quickly.

Rei was teasing, of course and Camine would realize that. She was the type of person that loved to toy with people. She took a great plesure in picking on whoever she could in front of everyone. She wasn't reserved at all, and she was one of the ones that could get away with doing what she wanted. She wasn't one to mess with, she had more power than everyone knew, but it aws always lurking there.
"That would be true, though I don't count among that group. The cure is going to keep things busy while we can probably get away with a few more things as long as we keep with our secrecy. Speaking of that, I've got a couple of jobs, but I have to have a partner...."
She left the question to hang. Camine knew. Hell, they both knew the other well enough. Voicing things wasn't needed for the moment. It didn't matter that much....

Camine took a bit of pleasure on embarassing peole in front of a crowd and all, but she just wouldnt do it to Jason. She had too much respect for him, she by no means feared him, she just respected him. She was known for her snappy little come-backs though. She had a sharp tongue, quick too, she'd get you where it hurts the most and leave you stinging.
She smirked a little at the comment and rolled her eyes. Rei knew very well that Camine wouldnt turn her down, but probably knew she prefered to work with Jason, for the simple fact she trusted him more and working with him promised a good 'after party'. She liked working with Rei though, she didnt quite fully trust her, but she had just enough turst in her to know she'd watch her back.
"Yeah... partner, I guess I could fill in the placement."
She said with a little smirk.
"Im gonna be working my side job a bit more though. I figure that most mutants are going to start acting out, keeping the cops busy which means less eyes on me."
She nodded and shrugged a little. Cam was a thief on the side, and a real good one too.
