Mist, Memories, and Troubled Thoughts

[Logan]

Logan was walking through the park, alone. He wasn't supposed to be there, seeing as it was three thirty in the morning. Mist swirled around his feet as a light drizzle began clinging to his clothes and skin. He'd been awakened from those fragments of memory that made up his nightmares. Usually they made him sweat and shake, and not in a good fashion at all. Part of him loved teh feeling of bloodlust permeating his entire system, but his human side thought of the horrors it could cause, so Logan was constantly in an internal conflict.

The fact that he was in love with more than one person didn't help at all. Especially not right now...

[Mystique]

It was a cool night, but Mystique was still warm from the flames. Her addrenaline was still pumping from the bulltes she had dodged. Tomorrow it would be all over the news, but it wasn't tomorrow yet. There was no better feeling to her than getting the job done. Which was exactly what she had just done, a job. Search and destroy was one of her favorite things to do. But on this night, she found somethign else, somehting of interest. Something, she didn't wan't to destroy. Atleast not yet anyway.

She held a normal, randum disguise. Nothing that stud out, except the grin that couldn't be forced from her lips. It gave her such pleasure to cause the humans pain. She was simply taking a shortcut through the park when she saw it, him. Almost on insticnct, she took the form of Jean Grey.

She knew Logan would never hurt her as Jean. He looked lost, like sad little puppy. Her eyes shown with a cross between pitty and disgust. However, if Logan was lucky, those thoughts would never get past her eyes. But her eyes did more than just show emotion, they stalked him like a cat after prey. She slipped sliently from the shadows, never making a sound. She approached quickly at an angle, he didn't she was there until it was far to late. With a twitch of her hip her leg was in the air, a round house kick hurduling for chest. The same foot went back and down almost touching the ground. Then, sending it forward once agin, this time at knee level. She hooked the her foot behind his knee with force enough to make him fall backwards, shoulders first. She waisted no time in throwing herself at him, straddling his chest. Her weight rested on his arms throught her knees, practicaly pinning him to the ground. Her favorite knife at his throat.

"Boo."

She grined Jean's grin, her voice just above a whisper.

[Logan]

Logan was suddenly assaulted out of no freakin' where by an apparrently mentally unstable Jean. Boo had been the first word from her lips.

"What the hell?!" Inadvertent reaction, yes, but it was funny nonetheless. "Jean? Is there something on your mind....or are you out of it.....or have I completely lost my mind...or is this some entirely too strange dream that could either turn out really well...or really badly..." He was rambling pointlessly.

Suddenly, however, he flipped her onto her back, risking grabbing the blade and tossing it away. Healing factor could handle a little nick, even if it was fom a very nicely made Winchester butterfly knife...

Wait...Jean did NOT own one of those, but he suddenly remembered someone he knew that did own one of those.

"Mystique." It was a flatly growled statement, followed by one of his hands grabbing both of hers and pinning them above her head firmly as he glared down at her.

"What the hell is your problem, psycho?!"

[Mystique]

She threw her head back with laughter at his futile attempt at what appeared to be speech. He was just rambling like a geek who had just been spoken to by the prom queen. If she wasn't sure that he was crazy before, she was now.

"Sounds that way, you blithering imbecile."

She was feeling exceptionally regal tonight, and he was being surprisingly stupid. Dumn men had never been a turn on for her; however, winning was...or lousing, depending on how you look at it.

It was then that he flipped her on her back. Pinning her hands above her head. She was defensless, for the most part.

A huge grin streatched across her face.

"Damn, I've been busted...again." She looked him strait in the eyes. "But I don't know what your complaining about, the last time we were this close, you were the one on your back. Most men would kill to be in this position, besides you look like yoiur having a bit of fun yourself."

"And as for my problem, I have quite a few at the moment."

As much as she loved being under him, she had decided to see exactly how squeamish he was. Leaning in even closer to him, she licked his cheek and grined wildly.

[Logan]

"Sounds that way, you blithering imbecile."

Logan let his lip curl up in a sarcastic sneer, "Oooh...blitheirng imbecile. Haven't heard those words since before the First World War. Feeling senile and nostalgic today, are we?"

He looked down at her, realizing for the first time since she'd ambushed him that she wasvulnerable, if only somewhat. It made him smile his signature shit-eating grin. It was odd...how she still looked like Jean. He felt like freaking her out, too.

"You know...you looking like that could make me forget who you really are. That could be a dangerous thing, since we're out here, all alone and I outweigh you by a whole hell of a lot. Too bad Jean would never act like this. I would like that just a little too much, which should also scare you. Unfortunately, you are the bigger freak of the two of us, and I just can't make myself forget you aren't her."

Then, she licked him. That did it. He was off her twice as fast as any guy his size should have been able to move, especially from a prone position like that one. He scrubbed his cheek with his hand.

"I rest my case, you freaky smurf. That is VERY unsanitary. I don't know where your tongue has been...and I don't want to." Still wiping his cheek with his hand, he turned to make his way through the trees to the park exit.

Damn her. He'd been thinking about both of them, and she'd had the gall to show up looking like one, while really being the other, successfully screwing him up even more than he had been at the beginning of the night. It freaked him out how she'd just come out of nowhere and been so......he stopped his thoughts. They did NOT need to be headed in that direction. Freaky thing. He shivered a little as it started to rain harder.

"That bitch," he growled, still trying to scrub the feeling of her hot tongue off his cheek.

[Mystique]

She gave him a degrading look, catching his sneer and throwing it right back at him. "You have no room to talk about being senile. As for nostalgic..." Her voice faded away as she bit her bottom lip.

He continued to talk, his words cutting deep, but she would never show it. Taking a few deep breaths, her chest heaving a bit, her eyes narrowed.

"Maybe not, but I could make you forget a hell of alot of other things." Her thoughts were no longer sexual, as they were bashng his head with a rock oriented. She was feeling a bioplar at that moment, seeing as how he had ruined her fun mood. She was now pissed, and bad things happened when she was pissed.

He removed himself from atop her with words that just fuled her new mood. Freaky, yes. But smurf... NO

Approaching him from behind, she retrieved her blade and continued to make her way over to him. Her eyes never left his back. With a small grunt, she put a firm foot to the back of his kneecaps. The motion, took him to his knees. One hand yanked his head back with a wad of his own hair. The other placing the blade to his juglar, a bit more venamous than the first time.

"You have no idea of how much of a Bitch I can be, so I would stay away from calling me that, I may be tempted to show you."

Bastard...

[Logan]

He watched the expression on her face as she bit her lip and her sentence on nostalgia that had been started drifted away into nothing. She wasn't giving him any answers...go figure. He knew he sounded like a total asshole as he spoke, and for the most part he was glad, but part of him knew he was being an unnecessarily cruel son of a bitch. He was just angry, frustrated that thoughts of this very person had been disturbing his life for the past few months...night and day.

He couldn't help but smile, although it was more a showing of abnormally sharp teeth than any expression of mirth, as she told him she could make him forget a whole lot of things. Part of him really hoped so. He'd like to forget that she was a bad guy, and he was supposedly a good guy, and he'd like to forget that she'd shaken him to the core the last time she'd approached him as Jean. He'd like to forget that she could push all the right buttons, and even though he tried to make himself immune to her. It was just hard to ignore someone who was royal blue and naked most of the time. Part of him wanted to forget the whole entire world in one intense flash of pain...or pleasure.

Then, out of nowhere, her tongue scalded the side of his face with unexpected sensation. He jerked away from her, knowing it was even more hurtful, but hoping it was the right thing to do. He was so flipping disoriented now that he didn't know which way was up...or right...or wrong. He wanted to wipe away the lingering feel of her because it disturbed him in a way he would rather not face tonight. He wanted to get back to the good-guy vs. bad-guy stance, even if it meant he had to make himself the bad guy in this situation by being a total bastard, with little to no cause.

He was walking away, trying to regain his sense of the world, but then something hit the back of his knee like a hammer, sending him crashing to his knees. He felt her fingers in his hair, and the sharp jerk as she pulled his head back, placing the cold steel of her knife against the pulse in his neck, which was throbbing madly now.

"You have no idea of how much of a Bitch I can be, so I would stay away from calling me that, I may be tempted to show you."

Logan had to fight to ignore his baser instincts in this position...they weren't instincts that involved self-defence. The cold steel scraped against his hot skin, and he chuckled in his low, gruff voice.

"Go on, Mystique...slit my throat and put us both out of my misery if it makes you feel better. It won't do much good, though, considering the healing factor and all. I have a more interesting idea. Why don't we fight it out...no weapons? Just hand-to-hand. Either way, the ball is obviously in your court, seeing as how you've got complete control over this situation at the moment."

[Mystique]

Hell no, she hadn't given him any answers, then againl, he hadn't asked the right question. He smiled at her, and she didn't much like it. He was looking at her as if she were a cookie jar. Everyone wanted one, even him, even he was currious. But no one liked getting their hand caught in the cookie jar...

He was looking at her as if she were the fobiden fruit, but he was talking to her as if she were the gum beneath his shoe. He had little or no reason, except for the fact that she had kicked his ass, once already tonight. She was working on the second.

She had him right were she wanted him, on his knees. She had control of the situation completly. Mystique tended to take control of most situations, one way or another. it was how she operated, just used to being the dominant one i guess. She thought his suggession over. Killing him would be all to easy. Even despite his healing power. Although, she would love to see him heal his body, with his head three feet away.

Hand-to-hand, huh, did he really think that he could take her? By his laugh, obviously so. He truly had no idea what he was getting himself into. He had only seen pices of what she was capable of at Liberty Island, and then she wasn't even half as pissed as she was right now.

"You wan't to fight me? Aweful bold suggesstion from someone on their knees."

Her voice almost a hiss as she looked down at him with different eyes. Eyes that were all to familiar, eyes of sunset gold that burned into him. Eyes that were locked onto his. She leaned in close to him once again, this time as herself. For no other reason than to royaly piss him off by invading his space. Her mouth hovered over his forhead seeming as if she would bit his temple. A whispered growl escaped her as she forced his head forward, releasing his hair and throwing away her weapon. Hell, what did she need it for anyway, she was the weapon.

"On your feet, Logan."

Her voice spat his name. When he was on his feet she looked to him and gestrued to the park around them. It was in every way a challenge. Her eyes seeming to say 'impress me.'

[Logan]

Logan had always been a bold one, rash even. That was how he operated. Dive in face first...That approach had never failed him yet. He always came out on top. It was a natural-born talent, evidently.

Her voice meant buisiness now, and he knew that he was going to enjoy whatever was about to happen, no matter who won and who lost. He needed to release the tension that had been building for months, and he could think of no better way than to fight with someone who was really competent. He needed to let his frustration out, and what better direction to let it out in than at her. It was partially her fault, seeing as how thoughts of her had been distracting him lately, and then she'd ambushed him.

When he rose to his feet and faced her, the adrenaline was already coursing through his veins in anticipation. Her challenging look did nothing but please him and make him laugh as she gestured to the park around them. She was fully expecting to whup his ass. Why not? She had good reason.

Logan held out his hands politely, "I always let the lady make the first move. Common courtesy." He arched his eyebrows at her, wondering whether she would take the initiative, or whether he'd have to rush her.

[Mystique]

With his comment, she smirked that smirk, the one that made you wonder what exactly she was thinking. Striking first was something she avoided at anytime she could. With a body type like hers, it was better to wait for your attacker and use their own weight against them. That was, unless she was striking from behind. Surprise was her element.

"Too chicken?"

She snickered to herself a moment before she lept into the air to grab a rather sturty branch that was just above her head. Using the momentum of the swing, she slammed her heals into his chest, causing him to stumble backwards. He really should have looked before he challenged her.

[Logan]

Logan gasped for air as her feet slammed into his chest. That would leave a mark...if he didn't have superhuman healing powers. Too bad, right? He caught his balance without falling, seeing her swing back towards him. A wolfish grin played upon his lips as his hands shot out-lightning quick-and he caught her ankles.

He pulled just sharply enough to jerk her down off the branch, and make the juncture of her thighs hit his chest. He grabbed those thighs quickly, pulling upwards to send her head hurtling toward the ground. He wouldn't let her crack her scull this early in the game, though. Plus, he was fairly confident that she would catch herself, which she did.

In one deft movement he shoved her thighs away from him, sending the lower half of her body away from him, over her head. He did it to get her down from the tree and put some space between them so that he would have room to build speed and rush her.

She was good...he knew it...every cell in his body was aware of it. Who was he kidding, this was the best fight he'd had in a very long time.

[Mystique]

With a jerk form his apparently capable hands, she was out of the tree and dangerously close to his...erm... body. Her kick was deffinatly one that showed little mercy. Ingact, it would have left a rather nasty bruise on any other being. It was unfair, he could leave her a scar, ones that would never fade. The phisical scars she was sure to leave on him, well time could always heal them away. However, the three tiny dots that he had left would never fade. Something about it, her body couln't cover, like she had done all her other injuries. The three tiny puncture wounds that caused so much damage, so much danger. The scar left by yours truly...

It all happened so fast, then again, all combat did. That was why she liked it. In only a matter of seconds before his hands were gliding across her thighs. He had assisted in throwing her own legs over her head. Her hands were first to meet the ground. Ballancing her weight and setting the entire, gracefull move. It was smooth, almost as if it were planned. Her landing was flawless and her eyes were first to meet him when she did so. Raising her eyebrows, she licked her lips seductivly.

He was trained, that much was obvious. He had skills, he was... good... She was better.

[Logan]

Logan locked eyes with her as she righted herself, and his breath caught in his throat for a spare moment before he smiled his psycho you're-so-in-for-it smile. This was turning out to be a lot more fun than he'd expected.

He let his eyes assess her as he set his body in a pre-charge stance. Then, he started dashing directly at her, moving more and more quickly. He intended to full-on tackle her, but something told him that it might not turn out like that.

[Mystique]

Her eyes watched him as he charged her. She examined his speed, estimated his weight, and predicted his movements. He didn't stand a chance. He had made one of the biggest mistakes he could have possibly havce made. He had come to her...

When his body was close enough, she, without hesitation, took hold of his wrists. Then, in a movement that looked much like that of a dance, she spun him. Twisting his arm around behind him and placing his back to her. with force, she pushed his arm up. SHoving it in a directiopn that that particular joint was not supposed to bend. Her forearm moved over his throat and applied pressure, cutting off his air spply momentarily.

Her lips to his ear she whispered. "Your guna have to do better than that..." It had been all to easy for her to use his own body weight against him. With his own assistance he had put himself at her mercy.

Removing her forearm from his throat, she allowed him to breath. However, it was only seconds before she had forced him away again with a knee to the back. Was she toying with im? Oh, yes!

"I thoght you would be more of a challenge then this?"

SHe had barely given any effort, yet. It had been easy, far to easy. If he was going easy on her... he would be in for a rough spar because it would only fuel her more. She wanted to see all he had before she gave all she could. HE suggested this ands eh wanted a figh damnit.

[Logan]

His assumption had been right. She'd busted his ass, using his own weight to do it. He had known she'd do something like that. He growled as she forced his shoulder joint into a very uncomfortable position. She was his match, and he knew it. Something told him to stop going easy on her, to stop playing the dumb-shit berzerker, and show her that he had just as much training and finesse as she did.

A shiver rushed through his body as her lips brushed against his ear. He closed his eyes just for a second, as if trying to block out the distracting sensation. He grunted involuntarily as she spoke, shoving him away forcefully.

He didn't answer her with words. No, he intended fully to answer her with every little move he made. He used the momentum of her push to spin with surprising grace and catch her wrists. He bent his knees momentarily and pulled her up and forwards through the air in one fluid movement. Her pelvic bone caught his shoulder, and he relaxed his body, using her weight on his shoulder to make both of them hit the ground. As soon as they hit, he rolled and swept a foot roughly in her ribs to knock the wind from her long enough so that he could pin her beneath him yet again.

He stared down at her with blazingly calculating animal eyes, taking in every millimeter of her facial expression as he lowered his face so that his lips were barely an inch from hers, her breaths mingling with his own. His nostrils filled with her scent as he breathed in and they flared. A moment later he brought his forehead crashing into hers in a forceful head-butt that he would never have used on anyone else.

A split second after the head-butt, he was off her, standing, and set in a defensive position, waiting to see what she would do next.
